Changes at the Cannery

Not too long ago, in order to purchase from the cannery, we had to place an order for our needs a couple months in advance, and then plan to be at the cannery that morning to can the items we wanted to purchase.  Now, we no longer need to turn in orders and we can just purchase from the cannery without having to be there to can.  With that being said though, the cannery needs volunteers to help.  The new cannery philosophy is to look at it more as a service opportunity.  Please find time in your schedule to occassionally come serve at the cannery!

Albuquerque West Stake Cannery Assignment:  Each month, on the 3rd Saturday from 8am to 10:30am, we need 2-4 volunteers to participate in the canning session.  You do not need to purchase anything to serve.
**Youth age 14+ are eligible to participate as well.  A parent and teen might chose to volunteer and provide service together.
**Non-members may also participate in canning sessions and purchase products if they have a member sponsor.

Purchasing:  Members can now purchase items in bulk or cans every Thursday, 9:00am to 12pm (no canning session), or on Saturdays from 8am to 10:30am

Portable sealer is available for checkout.  Can bulk items in your own home.  Purchase cans, lids, boxes, oxygen packets, etc. from the cannery.  Contact West Stake Cannery Specialists Brian and Phyllis Shingle to schedule a time to pick up the sealer.
